Coming soon to a church near you… Jesus Shaped People… a whole church discipleship adventure!
An exciting and engaging opportunity to explore the life of Jesus and the priorities he set for his own ministry and for the church that would follow him. It really is for everyone, old and young, new to church, never been to church, been going to church for ages. It starts on Sunday September 1st, 2019. If you would like to know the nearest church to you that is starting this adventure, please get in touch through the contact page
So, what can you expect?
Over 15 weeks we look at 5 particular priorities; we start with PEOPLE and Jesus’ passion to love and include them in the family of God, especially those that society overlooked or pushed to the margins.
Second, we look at TEACHING and how Jesus told stories using everyday language and ideas to explain deep truths about God and The Kingdom he will one day establish on earth.
Next, we look at TEAM Building and the way Jesus wanted his people to work together doing amazing things they never thought possible.
Then comes PRAYER and how important this was to Jesus helping him to stay close to his Father in heaven, understand what his Father wanted him to do and receive from the Father the power and authority to do it.
Finally, we look at PROPHETIC CHALLENGE and the way Jesus challenged the terrible injustice and wrong doing often done by the rich and powerful – religious and secular, politicians and priests!
Each Sunday a talk will be given on one of these themes and then during the week you can attend a smaller group to looker a bit deeper into the subject and share your own thoughts on the matter.
Why are we doing it?
Because we want to be Jesus Shaped People following him more faithfully and fruitfully and to know the wonderful, exciting and eternal life that he is calling us too.
Our hope is that most people will come to the 15 Sunday talks and join one of the many different midweek groups, but honestly if you want to come and try the first one (or two) before you make your mind up we would love to see you.
